輕鬆掌握高頻單字！
-ful 和 -less 是相當常見的字尾，以 -ful 為字尾的形容詞通常有「充滿…」、「含有…」的意思，-less 結尾的字則有「缺乏…」的意思。
另外，-ful 和 -less 常為相反詞（例如 hopeful 和 hopeless），但也有些字並沒有兩種字尾（例如 wonderful 或 sleepless），要多注意！

這個形容詞的用法是 be grateful to sombody / for something
I’m grateful to you for all your help.
對你的所有協助我非常感激。
cheerful/delightful/joyful 非常開心、振奮的
colorful 色彩繽紛的
dreadful 令人害怕的；非常糟糕的
There was a dreadful car accident on my way home.
在我回家的路上發生一起可怕的車禍。
dutiful 守本分的
In some societies, women must be dutiful and obedient to their husband.
某些社會中，女人必須遵守本分並服從丈夫。
faithful 忠誠的
peaceful 和平的
plentiful 豐富的、大量的
Coal is cheap and plentiful.
煤炭便宜又大量。
powerful 有力量的
respectful 尊敬的
注意這個形容詞是指「對他人尊敬的」，「值得尊敬的」則是 respectable。
There was a respectful silence a few seconds while the president gaving a speech.
總統發表演說時有數分鐘尊敬的沉默。
thoughtful 體貼的
Thank you for the birthday card and the gift. It was very thoughtful of you!

successful 成功的

homeless 無家可歸的

A police investigation blamed the taxi diver for reckless driving.

careful 謹慎的 / careless 粗心的
Mary was careless and left the window unlocked.
Mary 粗心地忘了鎖窗戶就離開。
shameful 可恥的 / shameless 無恥的
注意這兩個詞的意思並不是完全相反，卻都是負面的。
There is no excuse for such shameful behavior.
這麼可恥的行為是沒有藉口的。Everytime I met this shameless man, I want to slap him and tell him to get out.
每一次我見到這個無恥的男人，第一直覺就是打他巴掌和叫他滾。
useful 實用的 / useless 無用的
hopeful 充滿希望的 / hopeless 絕望的
helpful 有幫助的 / helpless 無助的
harmful 有害的 / harmless 無害的
doubtful 令人懷疑的 / doubtless 無庸置疑的
I was doubtful of my own judgement.
我對我自己的判斷感到懷疑。
