如果你站在世界的頂點往下看，看見山川壯麗壯麗的風景，或是被川流不息的車陣點亮的城市夜景，想必心情一定非常興奮、開心！因此這個俚語就表示對某件事感到極度開心。
e.g., They’re on the top of the world since they had a baby. 自從他們有了小孩後，便感到十分開心。
e.g., I was on the top of the world on graduation day. 畢業那天我超級開心。
2. To think the world of someone → 點擊即可觀看影片
簡直把對方當成你的全世界來看待，代表你很尊敬、敬愛對方。
e.g., I think the world of my parents. 我很敬愛我的父母。
e.g., The country thinks the world of its president. 國家的人民非常敬愛他們的總統。
3. To watch the world go by → 點擊即可觀看影片
它的意思其實就和字面上差不多，描述你其實沒有特別在做什麼事，只是閒坐著，而世界仍舊自顧自地運轉。形容你無所事事地坐著，也沒有什麼重要的事發生。
e.g., Eddie: “So, what are you guys doing?” 你們在幹嘛呀？
e.g., Derrick: “Nothing much. Just sitting here watching the world go by.” 沒在幹嘛耶，只是坐在這裡耗時間。

如果你很厲害，厲害到能夠把世界踩在你的腳底下，這就表示你變得越來越成功，而且非常受到歡迎及尊敬。
e.g., He had the whole world at his feet by the time he was 30. 他 30 歲時前程似錦，且受到他人尊敬及歡迎。

若是你在世界上的位置持續往上、步步高升，就代表你變得更成功，社會地位更加提升，通常用於職場上。
e.g., Congratulations on your new job! You’re really moving up in the world. 恭喜你獲得新工作，飛黃騰達！
e.g., If we want to move up in the world, we must work hard. 我們如果想飛黃騰達，就一定得努力。
