一般來說，英文句型的語序通常為 “S. + V.”，但有時候不遵循這樣的規則，
出現反過來，動詞放在主詞前的情況，這樣的句子就稱為「倒裝句 (inversion)」。
千萬別以為任何句子，都可以隨意進行倒裝！
唯有在滿足某些特定條件、或者修辭需求下，才會有倒裝的情形發生。

其實，最常見的倒裝句大家一定都看過，那就是「問句」！
就如下表所示，把主詞和動詞的語序倒轉，直述句便會變問句。

規則一：否定副詞放句首
當具有「限制 (restrictive)」或「否定 (negative)」意義的副詞出現在句首時，需使用倒裝句型！
事實上，將否定副詞放在前面，是有強調作用的意味。
常見的否定用語包括：
1. 絕不：never、by no means、under no circumstances、on no account、in no way、at no time
By no means will I give up my dream. 我絕不會放棄夢想。
2. 幾乎不：seldom、little、rarely、hardly、scarcely
要注意的是，當以“hardly” 或 “scarcely”作開頭時，會是以下的句式：
“hardly/scarcely had…before/when…”
Scarcely had I left home when/before it started to rain. 我剛出門就下雨。
（＝I had scarcely left home when/before it started to rain.）
也可寫成另外一種很簡單的寫法：It started to rain just after I left home.
3. 直到…才…：not until
Not until then did my parents allow me to drive the car. 在那之前，我父母不准許我開車
(=My parents did not allow me to drive the care until then.)
4. 再也不：no longer
No longer does he need my help. 他再也不需要我的幫忙。
5. 一…就…：no sooner …than…
No sooner had I put the phone down than it rang again. 我一放下電話，電話又再度響起。
注意：no sooner 後須搭配「先發生的動作—放下電話」，用過去式「had + p.p.」表示且倒裝，而後「發生的動作－ 電話響」 用「過去式」表示，且不需倒裝。
6. 不只…而且…：not only + 句子1 , but also + 句子2；句子1需倒裝。 →點擊看影片用法
Not only did he make a promise, but he also kept it. 他不止作出承諾，也遵守了。
(=He not only made a promise but he also kept it.)
* 補充 “only”
副詞 “only” 所強調的方式狀態語、條件狀態語、地點狀態語、時間狀態語等位於句首時，會有部分倒裝。
Only by taking a taxi can you arrive there on time. 你只有搭計程車，才可能準時抵達。
注意：如果only修飾的不是狀態語而是主語，則不能倒裝。
Only his mother was invited. 只有他媽媽受到邀請。
規則二：neither、nor、so 之後
聊天時，用 “So did I.” 這樣的話，表達同意對方，這用法對大家來說應該不陌生吧？
你甚至可能因為太習慣這樣的用法，而忽略了它倒裝的原因。
nor
“nor” 是 “or” 的否定用法， 有「也不；也沒有」的意思。
The mayor of Toronto refused to resign, nor do we expect him to. →點擊看影片用法
so
用 so 表示「我也這樣」的概念時，常用以下結構：
肯定：so + be/ have/ 助動詞/ 情態動詞 + 主語
否定：nor/ neither + be/ have/ 助動詞/ 情態動詞 + 主語
He has visited the museum. －So have I.
他已經參觀了博物館，－我也參觀了。
She can swim. －So can I.
她會游泳。－我也會。
The boy can’t skate. －Nor can his brother. (Neither can his brother.)
那男孩不會滑冰。－他的兄弟也不會。
這裡有個重點！當 so 的意思不是「我也…」，而是表示「的確如此」，則絕對不能倒裝。
John won first prize in the contest. －So he did.
約翰在比賽中贏得一等獎。－的確如此。
規則三：條件句 (should、had)
以 “should” 或 “had” 開頭的條件句，是較為正式的用法。如影片中提及的，在書寫較為正式文章可以使用。

“should” 在這裡其實就是 “if” 的意思，而語氣上比 “if“ 更為正式。

為了更加生動的描繪、敘述情況，會將表示運動方向的副詞（如 here, there, out, in, up, off, down, away, back⋯等）放在句首。注意：這種句子必須是謂語動詞為 go, come, run, rush 等表示位移的動詞，而主語則是名詞。
Here comes the bus. 公車來了。
There goes the bell. 鈴聲響了。
Down came the rain. 雨落了下來。
Out rushed a tiger from the wood. 從林子裡衝出一隻老虎。
